Hitendra is a trained and qualified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) trainer, from the Centre for Mindfulness Research & Practice (CMRP), at Bangor University, and has also had training assistant experience via the Centre for Mindfulness, at the University of Massachusetts.
In addition, he has also been teaching at London South Bank University since 2003, and is currently the Course Director for the MSc Development Studies, and MSc Refugee course.
He has been active in the development and humanitarian sector for two decades, and more recently, in hunger and health related programming for over 10 years with Action Against Hunger UK.
More recently, he led the 3-year Mindfulness & Wellbeing project as part of the Start Network’s Transforming Surge Capacity programme, funded by the UK's Department for International Development (DFID) under their Disasters & Emergencies Preparedness Programme (DEPP) across Thailand, Pakistan, the Philippines, and the UK. In the Philippines, he was responsible for creating, and together with local and international partners, establishing the Wellbeing Cluster, the first dedicated multi-stakeholder wellbeing platform for supporting the mental health and wellbeing of humanitarian and care workers across the Philippines.

Hitendra is currently the Mindfulness & Wellbeing Adviser for Simply Mindful, a mindfulness and wellbeing consultancy offering training and support to humanitarian agencies, academia and the business sector in establishing mindfulness approaches within their organizations.
